Most "Magical" Place on Earth!

Disneyworld... Affectionately called, "The Most Magical Place on Earth".

Even before we met, both Chris and my families have visited this 'magical' place. While we were dating, Chris and I visited this 'magical' place with his family. The day after Chris and I got married, we honeymooned for a week at this 'magical' place. Then we took our kids to this 'magical' place for their very first time for our 10 year wedding anniversary. And most recently, my parents enjoyed taking our kiddos to this 'magical' place...

They drove to Disneyworld the day after Christmas and stayed at the newest resort based on the Disney movie 'Cars', and enjoyed all the different Disney Parks for 6 days before driving back home.

Now here comes the 'funny story' behind my kiddo's 'magical' trip...

You see, this mamma is surgically attached to a camera at all times. I'm one of those moms that takes 100 pictures during a 15 minute event. Since I wasn't going to be there to experience the 'magic' with my kids this time, my daughter specifically asked for a good camera for Christmas so she could take lots of pictures for me. And a good camera she got. Wanna guess how many pictures she took?? Anyone?

43... in 6 days.

Well, that's OK. I'm super-thrilled my kiddos had a fantastically 'magical' time, and in all fairness, my poor daughter was actually sick for 2 of the days there. Poor baby! (Nathan got to enjoy one of the Disney Waterparks while Katie was resting in the hotel room, but she didn't mind since she failed to bring a swimsuit anyway...)

The Best of Nathan 2012: Sleeping, of course!

For two years now, I have documented my son's sleeping habits. This boy can sleep ANYWHERE, ANYTIME! I'm totally jealous! In 2011, I began snapping pictures of his 'weird' sleeping positions because it just looked flat-out uncomfortable... not to mention it was pretty funny. 

Well, this became almost a nightly occurrence. And so Nathan's legacy began.

Mostly because I would post these pictures all over Facebook! Hehe!

(I took 60+ pics of him sleeping 'weirdly' in 2011 alone!)

One day, these pictures will be shown to his friends, girlfriends, and probably his future wife. Will he hate me for it? Probably. But, these are the kinds of things us mommies thrive for... we consider these kinds of moments, "cherished memories".

To this day, Nathan continues to fall asleep in the most odd positions. 

There may not be near as many pictures of Nathan sleeping 'oddly' for the year 2012 as there was for 2011, because I probably have every possible position already on film, but have no fear, this kid STILL falls asleep in the oddest of places/positions!

Douglas + Holly = Mischievous Elves!

Oh my! After Thanksgiving, December flew by with the blink of an eye, but not before our household had fun with our "Elf On the Shelf" elves! Apparently since there are two kiddos in my house, we were lucky enough to have two elves causing all kinds of nightly ruckus for us to wake up to each morning!

Our elves' names are "Douglas" and "Holly"... both names derive from holiday plants. Interesting. But don't let these sweet innocent names fool you. More times than not, these elves were very 'mischievous' in every sense of the word.

Every night (beginning on the night of Thanksgiving Day and ending on Christmas Eve), with the exception of a couple nights off of course, Douglas and Holly would travel back to Santa to report whether or not Nathan and Katie had been 'good' or 'bad'. However, when they returned, they would play around our house. Sometimes they would take part in calm, relaxing, and innocent activities, but most of the time, they were trouble! I was lucky enough to capture every single one of their acts on camera... you know, for documentation purposes just in case they broke something and I had to contact Santa with proof. Ha! We can't wait to see them again next year!! They were SO much fun!
